Inspiring the Future Aotearoa

Inspiring the Future is a programme freely available to all primary schools in Aotearoa.

Designed to broaden young people’s horizons, an Inspiring the Future event connects students with volunteer role models so they can learn about different jobs, why people love doing them, and see the pathway they’ve taken, and challenges faced along the way.

Initial work involved mapping and designing the entire end-to-end experience for our three main user groups - teachers, volunteer role models and students - and to represent that graphically for the team.

I travelled around New Zealand and interviewed school principals, teachers, primary students and a wide variety of prospective volunteer role models to learn about motivators, barriers, requirements and expectations.

An integral member working across cross-functional teams, I helped to develop and manage trial events in different regions throughout the country.

I conducted follow-up interviews with our users to gather insights and participated in the synthesis with our experience team.
